Spike's Spouting Sands (All Star Coins) - Layer Cake Desert 4 - New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe

Image
As Mario makes his way through Spike's Spouting Sands, he will want to watch out for Spike. There are a few of them, Koopa Troopa, too. One of the star coins will be a simple find but the other two will be challenging. For all these star coins, there are timestamps in the above video description if you need help finding them. First Star Coin Mario will be able to find the star coin pretty simply in the early part of the level. It's hidden in no way. Check the above video if needed, timestamps are in the description. Second Star Coin When Mario kills a spike that is on a sand geyser. Mario will need to stand in the middle of the sand geyser. When the sand geyser is at it's highest point, Mario needs to jump. He will hit a invisible block that releases a piranha plant with a vine. When he climbs the vine, he will get to the area with the star coin.  Third Star Coin Shortly after the halfway marker. Mario will encounter another Spike. After Mario defeats the Spike, he needs ...

Stoneslide Tower (All Star Coins) - Layer Cake Desert Castle - New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe

Image
In this castle, Mario can easily miss the third star coin. Mario will want to be adventurous and explore his surroundings as he makes his way to the top of Stoneslide Tower. Mario will encounter many dry bones and buzzy beetle. Not just any buzzy beetle... the kind with spikes on the back. First Star Coin Mario finds the first star coin when he starts the level. The star coin is in the first room. When Mario spins that first screw he sees. It will emerge from the wall. Second Star Coin Mario will encounter a screw that allows him to crush three dry bones. When the platform moves all the way to the right. Another area of the level opens up that Mario can jump to. Mario will find the star coin on his way up. It's kind of difficult to explain in writing. So check out the video up above. Timestamps are in the video description. Third Star Coin Mario will encounter a screw with a moving block. On the other side of this moving block is a sign that directs Mario upward. When Mario spins...

Nintendo Switch - Recommended Accessories

Image
The Nintendo Switch was released in 2017. And you know what... It's an expensive unit. Personally when I get expensive items, I do like to see what kind of protection I can provide, whether it be through carrying cases or screen protectors. The Nintendo Switch is mean't as a hybrid console. Meaning that it is for at home play as well as on-the-go play. Being portable means that it spends a great deal of time in our hands.  Portability means that there is a high chance that the Switch can get dropped. No matter who's handling it, whether it be a child or adult. It can end up taking a nasty fall to the floor. One of the items that I recommend is a screen protector. There are many screen protectors on the market right now. I recommend this  one  currently.  I love to play old-school NES and SNES classics on my Switch. I mean almost everytime I go to play my switch I am either playing NES or SNES games. But I have found that play is undesirable with the existing Joy-Con....

Fire Snake Cavern (All Star Coins) - Layer Cake Desert 3 - New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe

Image
Fire Snake Cavern is a... a cavern. A really dark one. Getting all the star coins will be difficult for Mario as he will be navigating a good portion of the level in the dark. Traveling the level is easier with a gold baby Yoshi. Finding the gold baby Yoshi may prove difficult, you can locate him easily by watching this video .(Just a link to the video above.) First Star Coin This coin is found in the dark above several platforms towards the top of the level. It will be challenging to find. For a video demonstration showing how to get the star coin, check out this video .(Link to video above) Second Star Coin As Mario is making his way through the level, there will will be two platforms parallel to each other. They are rotating on a central axis, with blocks that can be broken serving as the center point. When Mario breaks these blocks, it is revealed that there is a pipe directly below. Inside Mario will get access to the star coin, after hitting the coin switch. For a video dem...

Perilous Pokey Cave (All Star Coins) - Layer Cake Desert 2 - New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe

Image
Perilous Pokey Cave is a level that truely lives up to it's name. Mario encounters a lot of 'em in this level. The first of the star coins is an easy find. The second is quite challenging because we are looking for an invisible block. The third proves to be quite difficult because a well timed jump with Yoshi is needed to get it. First Star Coin The first star coin is found shortly after the upside down pokey early in the level. It will be further up in the air. Location shown here . (Just a link to the above video.) Second Star Coin This is a tough one to explain, because we are looking for an invisible block. I recommend watching the above video. Click here for timestamped part in video. Third Star Coin This one relatively tough to find also because we are looking for a platform in a dark room. Watch the timestamped part of the video here . ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out Our other articles. Like... Nintendo Swi...

Stone-Eye Zone (All Star Coins) - Layer Cake Desert 1 - New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe

Image
Woop Woop!!! We have finished getting the star coins in Acorn Plains. Now Mario is on his way to the next world. Layer-Cake Desert awaits Mario's arrival. Levels continue to become more challenging as Mario progresses through his journey.  There are 9 levels that Mario will complete, including his defeat of Morton Koopa Jr. The first level is Stone-Eye Zone. I recommend playing this level with the Super Acorn. Having the Super Acorn makes getting two of the star coins easier. First Star Coin Mario will find the first star coin in the air about a quarter of the way through the level. Second Star Coin There is a pipe that Mario will have to jump up to see. It's at the palm tree directly after the halfway marker. Once Mario is on top of the palm tree, he can go inside the pipe. Inside Mario finds blocks, a coin switch, and the star coin. Third Star Coin Mario drops out of a yellow pipe after getting the second star coin. Mario will find the star coin shortly after the second palm ...

Blooper's Secret Lair (All Star Coins) - Acorn Plains Secret Level - New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe

Image
The bane of every Super Mario fan, and underwater world. The level does pose a bit of a challenge to an inexperienced player. There are strong currents that can take Mario to his certain death, as well as many blooper. The first two star coins are found fairly easily throughout the level. For the last there is a pipe that we need to be looking for. First Star Coin The first star coin is found between two pipes towards the top of the level. It is not hidden in any way and is an easy enough find. Second Star Coin The second star is seen and quite obvious. What isn't obvious though. Is that Mario needs to swim slightly under the level in order to get to it. There is a gap between the rotating pipe and the static non moving pipe. Mario can swim through this gap, down under the level, slightly maneuvering himself over to the right and get the star coin. This is demonstrated in this video .  Third Star Coin When Mario starts swimming vertically through the second part of the level. There...

Lemmy's Swingback Castle (All star coins) - Acorn Plains Castle - New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

Image
Lemmy's Swingback Castle is among the first of the Koopaling castles. It is the first koopaling castle that Mario has to make his way through on this journey, so it not necessarily that difficult. Lava, swinging platforms, and jumping podoboos are the theme of this level. Well timed jumps make for easily getting the star coins. First Star Coin The first star coin is found keeping pace with a swinging platform. Get to the platform, get the star coin. Simple, easy peasy. Second Star Coin The second star coin is found shortly after the halfway marker. It is easily acquired by gliding into it. The block before the star coin contains a Super Acorn to assist in getting the star coin. So make sure you are Super Mario before hitting the block. Third Star Coin The last star coin is found going down a pipe that is in the lava. I am going to be honest with you, the pipe is fairly easy to find because it is a lone pipe in the middle of the lava. Once inside you will find a carefully timed jum...

Rise of the Piranha Plants (All star coins) - Acorn Plains 5 - New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

Image
In Rise of the Piranha Plants, Mario will be jumping over many large piranha plants to make his way through the level. One star coin requires going down a pipe to find. Other than that the rest are fairly easy to find. With that let's get right to it. First Star Coin The first star coin is found where the platforms are going up and down interchangeably. It is visible over the top of a piranha plant. One of Mario's famous jumps should get the star coin quite easily. Second Star Coin The first large piranha plant that Mario encounters after the halfway point blocks a pipe. Mario will be going through that pipe to the the second star coin. Third Star Coin The final star coin is found above a single Hammer Bros. It will be the first hammer bros that you come across after getting the second star coin.

Mushroom Heights (All star coins) - Acorn Plains 4 - New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

Image
Mushroom Heights is gonna prove a little challenging without pink baby Yoshi. Pick him up on the overworld. The first star coin is kind of easy, it's just high. The following are a little tough and can require careful timing. There are no pipes that Mario has go down to find the star coins, so that's a positive. First Star Coin Mario will come across a dancing platform(i guess it's a dancing platform lol). When Mario jumps off the back ledge of the platform while it's lifted in the air. He will see the star coin. Second Star Coin Shortly after the halfway-marker, Mario will come across a blue platform with the coin under it. Having the pink baby makes getting this star coin a breeze. Third Star Coin This one requires a carefully placed jump. As demonstrated here . This one is found under the small dancing pinking platforms. They are found after the tall red platform.

Yoshi Hill (All star coins) - Acorn Plains 3 - New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe

Image
Yoshi Hill is the first level in New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe with Mario's favorite dino-sidekick. The first star coin is easy to find. The get the other two Mario will have to pay attention to key things in the level.  First Star Coin The first star coin is found in the early part of the level up in the air. It's hard to miss. This one is easier to get with the Super Acorn or Yoshi. Second Star Coin The second one requires Mario paying attention to his surroundings. There are two blocks along the ground of the level that Mario may pass as he's making his way through the level. Doing a ground pound on these blocks will reveal a path to a pipe. Once inside Mario will find the star coin floating in the air. Third Star Coin The third star coin takes doing a leap of faith. There is platform with a sign on it. Shortly after this platform. There is gap a in the level. It appears that there is nothing down below. There is however. A pipe and a platform. Once inside, Mario will s...

New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe - Acorn Plains-2 - Tilted Tunnel Secret Exit

Image
Today we are going to be looking for a secret exit in New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe. The level that we are playing is Acorn Plains-2, which is titled Tilted Tunnel. If you would a visual representation showing you where to find the exit, you can watch the above video. Where is the secret exit? When you get to the halfway marker, there is a large shifting crystal that allows Mario to slide down and collect the red coins. When it moves there is a ledge that is just out of sight. It may take a few jumps to find it because it's just off the screen.  After you get up there, there is a corner of a crystal that you will run up. Jump when you get to the top of that crystal and Mario will land on another ledge. Once you get to that ledge the camera move and you will see that you are above the level.  Once you are above the level, Mario will want to keep moving towards the right of the level. You will eventually see the exit with an arrow sign directing Mario down the pipe.

New Super Mario Bros U. Deluxe - Acorn Plains-Castle - Crushing-Cogs Tower - All Star Coins

Image
Today I will be showing you how to find all the star coins in Crushing-Cogs Tower, the first castle in New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe. There is also a video showing where all the star coins are found. First Star Coin The first star coin is found shortly after the start of the level. Just to the right of where Mario starts the level. You will see a spinning cog, just above you will want to do a wall jump to get this star coin. There is a line of coins leading to the star coin. Second Star Coin The next star coin is found on a ledge just below the red coin ring. You do not see the the star coin until you stand on the cog with the ring. It is a bit of a tricky jump, you can see demonstrated in this video clip how I got this star coin. Third Star Coin The last star coin is found a little past the halfway marker. There are two spinning cogs that you will want to go up. Then there are some ledges on the right that you can climb. You can go through an invisible wall. After you go through this...

New Super Mario Bros U. Deluxe - Acorn Plains-2 - Tilted Tunnel - All Star Coins

Image
Today I will be showing you how to find all the star coins in Tilted Tunnel, the second level in Super Mario Bros U Deluxe. There is also a accompanying video that I have showing you where to find all the star coins in Tilted Tunnel.  First Star Coin The first star coin is found in the area of the level with the multi-color shifting crystal parts. The star coin is not hidden in any way. Mario will have to jump through it for the most part to continue through the level. So you really can't miss it. Second Star Coin The next star coin is found shortly after the halfway point. You will want to use a koopa shell to hit the block as demonstrated in this video clip here (just a link to the above video). Third Star Coin You get the last star coin by going down a pipe. It is not hard to find this pipe. There is a sign pointing down to show you this pipe.
